Ciro Franzese, Director of Radiation Oncology Unit at Humanitas San Pio, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Proud to share our latest publication from the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) SBRT Focus Group.
This international survey provides the first global snapshot of SBRT practice, with responses from 59 countries, in collaboration with International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society (ISRS), the Radiosurgery Society, and JASTRO.
Key messages:
• SBRT is widely adopted worldwide, but with substantial heterogeneity in definition, fractionation, and technology
• Lung, bone, liver, and prostate remain the most common indications, while pancreas and kidney are emerging settings
• Access barriers persist, including funding, reimbursement, workforce, and technology
This work highlights where we stand today, and where we need to go, to ensure high-quality and equitable SBRT access worldwide
Huge thanks to all co-authors and involved societies.”
