Urvi Shah: Dietary Intervention in Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma

Urvi Shah, Attending Physician, Myeloma Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“A new diagnosis of multiple myeloma can bring many questions especially what foods should one eat to support recovery.

The NUTRIVENTION5 clinical trial aims to answer this question and is currently enrolling nationally.

We are studying whether a dietary intervention can improve treatment response, quality of life, and overall health in people newly diagnosed with multiple myeloma who are receiving standard induction therapy.

Participants are randomly assigned to study groups and may receive prepared meals and personalized nutrition coaching. The study is designed to be decentralized, making participation more accessible from home.

This study design is based on the NUTRIVENTION trial.

Please share or repost this post or flyers with anyone who maybe interested!

If you are a physician who sees patients with myeloma looking to collaborate on the trial or if you are a patient with myeloma interested in participating or if you know someone interested in participating then please contact – Shahnutrivention@mskcc.org.

Grateful to Blood Cancer United for funding this trial.”
