Advancing Pediatric Leukemia Research in 2025 – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital shared a post on LinkedIn:
“St. Jude continues to make strides against pediatric leukemia, building on decades of progress since our founding in 1962. The remarkable increase in survival for acute lymphoblastic leukemia reflects the dedication and collaborative spirit of our research community, yet the pursuit of better outcomes for all patients remains central to our mission.
Last year, St. Jude investigators advanced understanding of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia by identifying genetic predictors of relapse and refining risk stratification. These efforts support more personalized treatment approaches, maximizing efficacy while minimizing side effects for children with this disease.
Findings in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia have brought clarity to its molecular landscape, with the identification of multiple subtypes and novel genetic drivers. These discoveries are informing targeted therapy development and expanding options for patients.
Pediatric acute myeloid leukemia remains a formidable challenge, but research has revealed new molecular categories and disease signatures unique to children. These insights enable more precise diagnoses and risk assessments, guiding clinicians toward effective and individualized care.
The progress reflected in the Scientific Report highlights the importance of comprehensive genetic research and collaboration across disciplines. By continuing to examine the rarest and most difficult cases, St. Jude is shaping the future of leukemia treatment and reaffirming our commitment to improving outcomes for every child.
Read more about advancements in leukemia research and more in the 2025 Scientific Report.”
