Markus Kosch: Finding Strength After Diagnosis – A Conversation with Claudia Poguntke
Markus Kosch, Head Oncology Europe and Canada at Daiichi Sankyo Europe GmbH, shared on LinkedIn:
“On the occasion of Blood Cancer Awareness Month, I had the chance to have a conversation with Claudia Poguntke – a blood cancer patient and advocate with the Acute Leukemia Advocates Network.
Claudia generously shared her story, speaking with honesty about the challenges she faced post diagnosis and about how she found strength along the way.
One of her strongest messages to others newly diagnosed: don’t go through it alone. Build a network around you. Ask questions, even the ones that may feel difficult. Having allies, she told me, can make all the difference.
We also spoke about the power of imagination – the ability to picture a future beyond treatment. Interestingly, neurological research shows that imagination activates the same neural pathways as real experiences – with measurable effects on the brain that can strengthen resilience.*
I am grateful for Claudia’s openness, and I invite you to listen to a part of our conversation. Her reflections remind us of why we do what we do at Daiichi Sankyo Europe GmbH – creating better outcomes for patients worldwide.”
