Puneet Sharma, Founder of Cancer24x7, shared an update from OncoDaily, on LinkedIn, adding:
“This is a conversation very close to my heart.
When we talk about cancer, we often talk about treatment, medicines, scans and outcomes.
- But what about the fear that stays after treatment?
- The anxiety before every scan?
- The changes in relationships?
- The caregiver who is trying to stay strong?
- The survivor who is wondering, ‘How do I go back to living normally?’
These are real parts of the cancer journey, and we need to talk about them.
I am very grateful to Dr. Jae L. Ross, for sharing his perspective and to OncoDaily for giving this subject the visibility it deserves.
Through Cancer24x7 , I have had the opportunity to listen to so many patients and caregivers. Their experiences have made one thing very clear to me:
Cancer care cannot stop at treating the disease. We also need to care for the person living through it.
I hope we can make conversations around psycho-oncology more normal, more accessible and a part of the cancer journey from the beginning-not only when someone reaches a crisis point.
Thank you, Dr. Ross, for being part of this conversation. And thank you, OncoDaily, for helping us take it further.
Let’s keep talking. Let’s keep listening. Let’s keep supporting.”
