Ophira Ginsburg: Perilous Time for the Rights of Women and Girls

Ophira Ginsburg, Provost’s Visiting Professor of Global Cancer Equity at Imperial College London, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Two years ago, we published The Lancet Commission on Women, Power, and Cancer.

Today, we are at a perilous time for the rights of women and girls. Gains in health equity cannot be taken for granted – and we cannot afford to lose momentum. Our Commission called for urgent action at the intersection of women’s health, gender equity, and cancer. That call is even more pressing now.

We invite everyone – working in women’s health, sex and gender in health research, or cancer research, policy, and practice – to reflect and ask:

What more can I do to advance health equity and justice for women and girls, in all their diversities?

Deeply grateful to all our Commissioners, advisors, mentees, collaborators, patient advocates, partners and the women who bravely shared their stories to bring our collective work to life! – and to everyone who continues to carry this work forward. Together, we can advance health equity and justice for women and girls everywhere.”
