Elena Laakmann: The Survey Results on Brain Imaging in Patients with Metastatic Breast Cancer
Elena Laakmann, Senior Physician at University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, shared a post on LinkedIn about recent paper she and colleagues co-authored:
“Great News – Our Manuscript is Published!
I’m thrilled to share that our survey results on brain imaging in patients with a metastatic breast cancer have been officially published today. This milestone was made possible thanks to the expertise, dedication, and teamwork of our colleagues, along with the invaluable collaboration of patient advocacy organizations.
Key Findings:
• Most physicians request brain imaging (BIS) only for selected metastatic breast cancer cases — not routinely.
• Most patients are interested in undergoing brain imaging, even when the benefit is uncertain.
• A clear gap exists between patient preferences and physician practice.
A heartfelt thank-you to the entire team for making this possible. I look forward to building on this success with further exciting projects in breast cancer brain metastases research.”
