Claudia Witt, Professor of Medicine at University of Zurich, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“‘Nearly 80% of global oncology health professionals believe integrative oncology is still underutilized.’ A finding from our new MASCC/SIO survey that sets the stage for what needs to change.
Across 344 respondents from eight regions, we found:
- Most clinicians use or recommend at least one integrative oncology modality, yet feel access remains limited.
- Top recommended modalities are acupuncture, exercise, nutrition, breathwork/yoga, and massage.
- Major gaps persist in training availability and financial accessibility, with many patients relying on self-pay.
- Recommendations differ between high-income and low–middle income countries, reflecting structural inequities.
Together, these findings underline how essential it is to bridge the gap between evidence and real-world implementation.”
