“Investing in Nurses, Saving Young Lives – Thanks to the Health Carousel Foundation
We are deeply grateful to the Health Carousel Foundation for their generous grant to World Child Cancer to support the training of 40 pediatric oncology nurses across sub-Saharan Africa.
Nurses play an essential role to support children with cancer in under-resourced countries. They are there for the children all along their cancer journey, day and night, helping to detect their cancer, administering treatment, spotting complications, and supporting them and their families emotionally.
Thanks to this one-year training in pediatric oncology, over the next three years, nurses will gain critical, life-saving skills and go on to train others, expanding access to specialized care where it’s needed most.
