“Please join us for our next educational webinar organized by the International Society of Paediatric Oncology – SIOP GHN Psychosocial Wellbeing working group.

Dr. R. Elyse Heidelberg from St. Jude Research Hospital will present on Universal Psychosocial Assessment and Intervention. You will learn various approaches to universal assessment and intervention, and access and implement resources to support universal assessment and intervention in practice.

Dr. R. Elyse Heidelberg is a Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Member in the Department of Psychology and Biobehavioral Sciences at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. Dr. Heidelberg is Head of the New Oncology Program in Psychology (NOPP), a clinical program that offers universal psychological assessment and intervention to all oncology and transplant patients near the time of diagnosis.”

Alisa Kamalyan is the Head of Psychosocial Services at the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center and Co-Chair of the GHN Psychosocial Wellbeing Working Group within SIOP. She co-founded the Armenian Psycho-Oncology Association to advocate for integrating psychosocial care into cancer treatment.

She received the Young Investigator Award Scholarship at the 54th SIOP Annual Congress for her research on adolescents with cancer and their caregivers.

She was the first author of the article “Cancer and Armed Conflict: Crossing Realities,” published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, and co-authored the motivational book “Blossoming Trees: Conquering the Cancer Treatment Journey.”
