Emad Shash: Empowering women’s health through the Presidential Initiative
Emad Shash, General Manager of the Breast Cancer Comprehensive Center of the National Cancer Institute at Cairo University, shared on LinkedIn:
“Reflecting on last Sunday’s inspiring event under the Presidential Initiative for Women’s Health. This gathering underscored our commitment to empowering women, fostering early detection, and strengthening support networks.
The day began with moving words from Merihan, representing the patient voice, and a welcome from Professor Hesham ElGhazaly, head of the PIWH. Esteemed leaders, including HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Prof. Khaled Abdelghaffar, Dr. Maya Morsy, Dr. Nema Abir from WHO, and Prof Omar Sherif Omar, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, highlighted the importance of our shared mission.
It was an honor to moderate a panel on the vital role of NGOs in breast cancer care, from screening to survivorship. These collaborations are essential to providing women with access to high-quality care.
Special thanks to Dr. Norran Hussein Said for the scientific committee, and the executive office of the PIWH for their dedication, as well as to Dr. Hatem Amin for his leadership behind the scenes. Deep appreciation to AstraZeneca for supporting this event.
Together, we are making strides toward a future of comprehensive breast cancer care in Egypt.”
