Knowledge exchange with delegation from Romania – Princess Maxima Center for Pediatric Oncology
Princess Maxima Center for Pediatric Oncology shared on LinkedIn:
“Knowledge exchange with delegation from Romania.
Across Europe, there are differences in survival rates for children with cancer. As the largest pediatric oncology center in Europe, the Máxima Center feels the responsibility to share our expertise. For example through twinning programs with pediatric cancer centers in Southern and Eastern Europe, such as the Marie Curie Hospital in Romania.
In the light of this partnership, we are welcoming staff members Augustina Enculescu and Narcisa Popescu from the pathology department and Carmen Uscatu and Raluca Soaita from the Give Life (Dăruiește Viață) foundation to our center this week.
The aim is to improve diagnostics, one of the next steps for the new Romanian pediatric cancer center. Medical director Rob Pieters and pathologist Ronald de Krijger have provided insights into our approach and the central role of diagnostics at the Máxima Center.
Collaboration with various countries contributes to improving survival rates and reducing inequality. Together, we are powerfully working towards our mission: curing every child with cancer with optimal quality of life.”
