Childhood Cancer International – Europe (CCI Europe) shared on LinkedIn:
“A new chapter is beginning for our global CCI family!
Congratulations to Alejandra Mendez (Fundación Nuestros Hijos, Chile) who was elected President of Childhood Cancer International’s Board of Trustees!
Alejandra is no stranger to the CCI community, having previously served as Vice President.
As a mother of a childhood cancer survivor and a passionate patient advocate, she brings a wealth of experience and a deep personal commitment to our shared mission.
From advocating for patient-centred public policies in Chile to representing children, survivors and families at the World Health Organization, the United Nations and other global forums, Alejandra has worked to ensure that the perspectives of those directly affected by childhood cancer help shape policies, research and healthcare systems.
There are also new faces joining the Board!
A warm welcome to Eugene Subban (CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA, South Africa) and Ruth Hoffman (American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO), USA).
Congratulations also to Georgia Kokkinou on her re-election for another three-year term and her appointment as Vice President of CCI’s Board!
We look forward to seeing what this new chapter brings for our global network. Congratulations to everyone taking on these roles.
Together, we are stronger.”
