OncoDaily at the Annual ASCO Conference 2024: A Comprehensive Report

The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting is one of the largest and most prestigious conferences in the field of oncology. This year, the meeting took place from May 31 to June 4 in Chicago, Illinois. The event gathers oncologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals from around the world to discuss the latest advancements in cancer research, treatment, and patient care.

OncoDaily, a leading oncology media platform, was at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) this year for the first time. OncoDaily aimed to cover news about the latest research and become the bridge to networking and establishing professional connections among physicians, researchers, leaders, nurses and patients from around the world.

We held 135 video interviews, where ASCO presenters and attendees discussed the latest advancements in cancer research, treatment, and patient care summarizing the highlights of their work.

The peak of the success was the OncoDaily Party, which included an opening ceremony for the Yvonne Award, followed by an evening of music, dance, and networking.

Hosting the party was a real privilege for the OncoDaily team, as more than 1200 individuals had registered for the event, demonstrating that social gatherings are a significant component of any conference.

The Yvonne Award 2024 by OncoDaily

The Yvonne Award, presented by OncoDaily and the Youredjian Family Charitable Foundation, symbolizing the strength and longevity of the yew tree, honors exceptional achievements in oncology. This unique Y-shaped sculpture embodies resilience and is designed to recognize young innovators and leaders advancing cancer care. The award celebrates excellence and innovation in the field of oncology.

Gevorg Tamamyan, the Editor-in-Chief of OncoDaily, delivered the opening speech at the Yvonne Award, emphasizing its significance, warmly welcoming everyone, and expressing gratitude for their presence. He underscored their mission to be the voice of oncology, quoting OncoDaily’s motto “Cancer doesn’t take a day off, neither do we”. Dr. Tamamyan expressed his excitement about the expanded team behind OncoDaily, including doctors, fellows, and medical students, remarking on how gratifying it is to see their initiative blossom into something significant.
