Maria Babak: Happy to announce our second paper on recommendations to improve cancer care in regions affected by conflict

Maria Babak shared on LinkedIn:

“I am happy to announce our second paper in The Lancet. This important Manifesto is a result of the work we do at the Institute of Cancer and Crisis together with OncoDaily. The Manifesto encompasses key recommendations to improve cancer care in regions affected by conflict.

I am humbled to have an opportunity to work with an incredible team of authors including the Director General of WHO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Princess Dina Mired, Richard Sullivan, Mark Lawler, Prof. Andreas Charalambous, Arman Kacharian, Alexandra Mueller, Christos Tsagkaris, Enrique Sot-Perez-de-Celis, Julie Gralow, Mulugeta Yimer, Layth Mula-Hussain, Khaled Ghanem, Nazik Hammad, Stella Arakelyan, Zeena Salman, M. Tezer Kutluk, Henrik Grigoryan, Andre Ilbawi, Bente Mikkelsen, World Health Organization, Gevorg Tamamyan, Jemma Arakelyan.

These global leaders in oncology, global health, and humanitarian aid have come together to highlight the critical challenges faced by cancer patients living in war zones and other conflict-affected regions.

We’re grateful to The Lancet for publishing this Manifesto, which we hope will drive much-needed action and policy change to support cancer care access and quality in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.
Please take a moment to read and share this important piece widely.”
