The Institute of Cancer Research shared on LinkedIn:

“We are very proud of Professor Clare Isacke, who has been awarded the 2024 Women in Science Achievement Award by the Metastasis Research Society (MRS).

The MRS established the Women in Science Achievement Award to acknowledge female scientists who have made an ‘exceptional demonstrable contribution to scientific discovery in the field of metastasis research’.

Professor Isacke is a Professor of Molecular Cell Biology in the Breast Cancer Now Toby Robins Research Centre at the ICR where she is also Dean of Academic and Research Affairs.

This prestigious award recognises her work on understanding how tumour cells recruit non-cancerous cells during metastasis. She is working towards targeting aspects of the metastatic process to prevent the development of advanced disease or treatment resistance, which would save and improve the lives of thousands of people with breast cancer.
