“Visit to Dedicated Nurses in Bucharest.
This week, I had the privilege from the Prinses Máxima Centrum voor kinderoncologie to visiting the nurses at Marie Curie Hospital in Bucharest. Since October 2024, they have been participating in the online Fundamentals of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nursing course, in collaboration with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – ALSAC.
This course equips nurses with essential knowledge and skills in pediatric oncology nursing, chemotherapy treatment, infection prevention and palliative care.
The course is conducted in English with Romanian translation support, and the entire nursing team is actively engaged. Well coached by Gabriela Mavrodin! They have already completed more than half of the program—6 out of 11 modules—each followed by a live session.
It was truly inspiring to see their enthusiasm, how they discuss new insights with doctors, apply their knowledge, and grow together as a team.
A great example of how collaboration and education can enhance care for children with cancer!”
