Puneet Sharma, Cancer Survivor, Founder of Cancer24x7, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Yes, I’m Addicted to LinkedIn
A few years ago, I was addicted to Facebook and Instagram, spending hours scrolling through videos and memes.
Deep inside, I often asked myself:
“Why am I here? What is my purpose?”
Then cancer happened.
In 2022, I kept asking God, “Why me?”
Today, I feel I have found my answer.
I created my LinkedIn profile in 2023, thinking it was only for people looking for jobs. I hardly used it.
In 2026, I started sharing my journey as a cancer survivor and patient advocate.
Today, I am grateful for 500+ incredible connections. Through LinkedIn, I have learned so much from healthcare leaders, doctors, survivors, caregivers, and organizations such as World Health Organization , Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) , OncoDaily , Rotary International and Siemens Healthineers.
My content has generated over 30,000+ impressions, but the biggest gift is not the numbers.
It’s the opportunity to learn, connect, and help cancer patients.
And yes, I admit it, seeing a comment or a like from a respected doctor, healthcare leader, or someone I admire still makes me smile.
Not because of the attention.
Because it reminds me that together we can create awareness, share knowledge, and make a difference.
My cancer gave me a purpose.
LinkedIn gave me a platform to live that purpose.
Through Cancer24x7 , my goal is simple: to ensure that no cancer patient or caregiver feels alone in their journey.
Thank you, LinkedIn, and thank you to all 500+ amazing people in my network who inspire me every day.
