“Today we at The Max Foundation celebrate a major milestone: 25 years of partnership with Novartis, which facilitated truly innovative treatment for chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) to those who need it most. I believe this to be the longest and most impactful public private partnership in the history of global oncology, and I am deeply proud to continue to play a role in it.
Since 2001, together we’ve helped more than 100,000 people access life-extending medication across more than 80 countries and provided close to 700,000 years of life. I could never have imagined, 25 years ago, how much we would accomplish together during that time. And yet, I know there’s so much more that remains to be done for millions of people around the world struggling with a cancer diagnosis.
That’s why we continue to push forward, continue to innovate, and continue to keep patients at the center of all we do. I’m grateful to have found such a committed partner in Novartis, and I look forward to what we’ll accomplish together in the future.
