“This year as I train for the St. Jude Half Marathon, I will be highlighting the incredible work of my colleagues I work with at St. Jude Global.
The first faculty I want to highlight is a no-brainer. Marta Salek is a combined pediatric oncologist and palliative care physician who is doing fascinating and essential work, better understanding decision making for children diagnosed with advanced cancer in different contexts around the world and has received multiple grants for her innovative research.
She is also just a great person and a great clinician who cares deeply about the patients she cares for both on the palliative care consult service and the leukemia/lymphoma inpatient service. If able, please consider donating to my fundraiser for the St. Jude Half Marathon so that Dr. Salek and other amazing researchers can continue their incredible clinical work and research.
