“Last year, I had the great honor of being appointed by the Honorable Minister of Health to serve on South Africa’s Ministerial Advisory Committee on Cancer Prevention and Control (MACC). Then, on 19 February this year, I was deeply humbled to be elected by my fellow MACC members as Chair.
This appointment is both an honor and a great responsibility that I do not take lightly.
I am humbled to serve alongside our Deputy Chair, Mr Faizel Jacobs, whose lived experience as a cancer survivor brings an invaluable and deeply human perspective to this work.
I look forward to working with my fellow MACC members, the National Department of Health and stakeholders as we contribute toward impactful, equitable, and person-centred cancer control in South Africa.”
