Dear friends, when it comes to childhood cancer, a child in one country can often be cured. A child with the very same cancer born somewhere else may never even have the chance to receive treatment.
Not because the science does not exist, not because we do not know how to save that child, but simply because of where that child was born.
This is an injustice we must refuse to accept. This September, during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the King Hussein Cancer Center and POEM are asking the world to confront this injustice and act to end it.
The need is greatest in low and middle-income countries, where access to treatment remains severely limited. This is where our action can save the greatest number of lives – country by country, hospital by hospital, child by child.
Join us this September. Help us turn a month of awareness into a global movement for action. Because every child with cancer deserves the same chance to survive, no matter where they are born.”
