Humaid Al-Shamsi Contributes to the UAE’s First National Lung Cancer Screening Guidelines

Humaid Al-Shamsi, The Chairman of Nexomic, CEO of Burjeel Cancer Institute (BCI) Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared on LinkedIn:

“Proud to have contributed to the development and publication of the UAE’s first national lung cancer screening guidelines, under the leadership of the Ministry of Health and Prevention – UAE.

This landmark initiative represents more than two years of dedicated multidisciplinary work and marks a significant advancement in cancer prevention and early detection.

With the launch of this programme, the UAE becomes the first country in the MENA region to establish a national lung cancer screening programme.

I am especially proud of the Burjeel Cancer Institute | BCI team, which had the largest representation from a single cancer centre involved in developing these guidelines. This achievement reflects our team’s continued commitment to advancing cancer care, supporting earlier diagnosis, and improving patient outcomes across the UAE.”
