Fabrice Andre, Head of Research Division at Gustave Roussy, shared on LinkedIn:
“Some reflections from ESMO 2026 illustrated with pictures: innovation, acceleration, interpretation, implementation, transformation and community.
- Innovation: impact of mRNA vaccines on relapses in patients with melanoma. New treatment modalities are coming.

- Acceleration: impact of ADC in osteosarcoma. thanks to colleagues from China, trials are going bigger and faster, and this could impact positively all patients in the world.

- Interpretation: use of EnList, an ESMO framework, to interpret data from Dellphi trial. ESMO frameworks (MCBD, ESCAT, ETAC, EnLIST etc.) are more and more present in our daily professional life to help oncologist interpreting the evidence.

- Implementation: pic with two Nepalese colleagues who won a 1 year fellowship from ESMO. ESMO is committed to support financially the future leaders to build capabilities locally or to run research projects. 28 one year fellowships were given this year.

- Transformation: top many patients present a very poor outcome, so we need new fields coming in oncology. AI and prevention have been fully integrated in the program.

- Community: a spontaneous agora has been created outside, in front of Hall 6, below the ‘multistakeholder’ announcement of ESMO.

Thank you to James Larkin and Yelena Jianjigian for building such a strong program and ESMO staff for running the conference and ESMO officer and volunteers for running the educational, scientific and political activities of ESMO.”
