Fabio Ynoe de Moraes, Associate Professor at Queen’s University, shared on LinkedIn:
“Excited to share our new study published in The Lancet Oncology, as part of the Global Cancer Control Policy Research Group.
Are countries developing cancer control plans that can actually deliver results?
We evaluated national cancer control plans across 50 countries using PRISM, a multiagent AI system.
What did we find?
Major gaps remain in financing, measuring outcomes, and addressing local needs.
What comes next?
- Validate AI tools across more countries and health systems.
- Use AI to help countries develop stronger, evidence-informed cancer policies.
- Most importantly, determine whether better plans translate into better cancer care and patient outcomes.
As an oncologist and global oncology researcher, I believe AI’s greatest opportunity is not simply analyzing information faster, but helping turn evidence into meaningful action.
Proud to contribute to this international collaboration alongside colleagues committed to strengthening cancer control worldwide.
The Lancet Oncology, 2026.”
