Dario Trapani: How Effectively Global Cancer Planning Integrates Human-Centred Care

Dario Trapani, Medical Oncologist at IEO European Institute of Oncology, shaped on LinkedIn:

“A new study from NCCP global study ICCP led by Emily Lau and Madeline Li examined 156 National Cancer Strategy Plans across 156 countries to assess how effectively global cancer planning integrates human-centred care.

Key human-centred elements, such as patient advocacy, public participation, and broader holistic care beyond palliative support were rarely included.

Disparities across country income levels were also identified.

The work is part of the broader commitment around The Lancet Group Commission on ‘Human Crisis in Cancer’ – Gary Rodin and Richard Sullivan.”
