Abdu Adem Yesufe: Delivering My Presentation on Updates in the Management of Pancreatic Cancer

Abdu Adem Yesufe, ASCO Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Council Member, Program Director of Adult Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship at St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College, shared on LinkedIn:

“I was deeply honored to deliver my presentation “Updates in the Management of Pancreatic Cancer” at the 12th Ethiopian Gastroenterology Association (EGA) Annual Conference at the Haile Grand Hotel in Addis Ababa!

It was a true privilege to address the EGA community during what is proving to be a landmark year for GI oncology.

For decades, pancreatic cancer has remained one of medicine’s most formidable challenges. However, 2026 marks a historical turning point – highlighted by groundbreaking data like the RASolute-302 trial. By effectively targeting the once “undruggable” RAS/KRAS pathways and nearly doubling survival outcomes in advanced disease, these advancements are finally breaking the long silence in pancreatic cancer care.

Bringing these global scientific breakthroughs into perspective for our regional clinical reality – and discussing how we can bridge evidence-based innovations into standard local practice – was the core message of my talk.

Thank you to the EGA organizing committee, my esteemed colleagues, and all attendees for the incredible hospitality, thought-provoking Q&A, and lively engagement throughout the session!

The collaborative spirit in the room reinforces my confidence in our collective effort to advance patient outcomes.

Looking forward to continuing these important conversations and collaborations!”
