“Great day site-visiting Morehouse School of Medicine and the Cancer Health Equity Institute (CHEI) with American Cancer Society Elvan C. Daniels, ACS Professor Karen Freund and seeing the impressive progress in training and career development of physicians and scientists at different career stages. The MSM CHEI’s American Cancer Society-funded Health Equity Research Career Advancement Program (HERCAP) that is part of the Diversity in Cancer Research Institutional Development Grants (DCRIDG) has made remarkable progress here at Morehouse School of Medicine over the last couple of years to address the diversity of the biomedical workforce. The energy and progress were noted throughout the day under Dr. Brian Rivers’ and his team’s exceptional leadership. The unique program is functioning as a model for the nation.”
