Al-Ola Abdallah Shares Inspiring Patient Recoveries in Myeloma Clinic
Al-Ola Abdallah, Associate Professor and Plasma Cell Disorder Program Director of the Division of HMCT at the University of Kansas Medical Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Best moments in Myeloma clinic:
- A patient with POEMS who came in a wheelchair due to neuropathy… now walking again.
- A patient with MGRS, previously on dialysis… now off HD after treatment.
- A patient with refractory myeloma and EMD in the intestine, was on TPN and in a wheelchair… now in remission, off support, back to normal weight.
- And today… a patient with systemic AL Amyloidosis, with lung involvement, on oxygen for 2 years… OFF oxygen for 2 months now.
These moments are why it keep me working as a clinician and enjoy research everyday.”
