Chris Poulios: Pathologist-Read vs AI-Driven Assessment of Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocytes in Melanoma
Chris Poulios, Steering Committee Member of Young Cancer Professionals at the European Cancer Organisation, shared a post on X about a paper he co-authored with colleagues published in JAMA Network Open:
“Hot paper published!
‘Pathologist-Read vs AI-Driven Assessment of Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocytes in Melanoma’
The paper is open access and available.
I was honoured to be part of the multi-operator team, led by Balázs Ács, Thazin Nwe Aung, Matthew Liu and David Rimm, who completed this study!
This was a multi-institutional effort, led by Yale University and Karolinska Institutet!
45 institutions and 98 researchers!
Among the researchers, I am proud to mention that many are part of the European Society of Pathology (ESP) community and many are members of the ESP Alumni! This demonstrates the ESP networking opportunities!
The timing of this paper is impeccable!
At the annual meeting of ASCO25, many lectures were provided about the developments on melanoma.
Within the subject of our paper were the discussions on the use of AI and the new immunotherapies, like engineered TILs and TCRs!
If you wish to learn more about melanoma-related news from ASCO25, join us in Vienna for the ESPCongress, where I will be participating in the highlights from ASCO. There, I will present among others on what has been presented on melanoma during ASCO!”
