“NEW FINDINGS: A recent CCR advance showed an important role for hepatocyte-specific CEBPA, a ligand-independent transcriptional factor, in liver fibrosis progression (the main determinant of liver disease outcomes).
Dr. Frank J. Gonzalez, a senior investigator in our Cancer Innovation Laboratory, focuses on investigating the mechanisms of chemical carcinogenesis for colon, liver, mammary, and other cancers. His work includes the study of signal transduction pathways involving nuclear receptors and their role in cancer initiation and progression.
