About Lilian L. Siu
Dr. Lillian L. Siu, MD, FRCPC, FASCO, is a distinguished figure in the world of oncology and cancer research, currently serving as a Professor of Medicine at the esteemed University of Toronto in Canada. Her journey in medicine has seen her rise to seniority as a medical oncologist and assume pivotal roles in groundbreaking initiatives at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
With an illustrious career spanning decades, Dr. Siu has become synonymous with innovation in anticancer drug development, particularly through her leadership in phase I clinical trials and her unwavering commitment to advancing treatments for head and neck malignancies. Her multifaceted role includes directing the Phase I Clinical Trials Program, co-directing the Bras and Family Drug Development Program, and spearheading the Tumor Immunotherapy Program at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
Dr. Siu’s influence extends beyond her clinical and research endeavors. She has played a key role in shaping the landscape of oncology organizations, having served on the Board of Directors for the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and as a member of the Nomination Committee for the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). Currently, she holds the prestigious position of President-Elect of AACR, a testament to her leadership and vision within the field.
Recognition of Dr. Siu’s contributions has come in various forms, including the recent honor of receiving the 2024 David Karnofsky Memorial Award from ASCO, which highlights her exceptional dedication and impact. About Gevorg Tamamyan
The host, Dr. Gevorg Tamamyan is the Editor-in-chief of OncoDaily, Head of the Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia, Chairman and Professor of the Department of Hematology and Pediatric Oncology at Yerevan State Medical University, CEO of the Immune Oncology Research Institute, President-Elect of the Pediatric Oncology East and Mediterranean (POEM) Group. He is also the Adviser to the Rector of YSMU and to the Director of the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center. He is a Co-Founder and Board Member of the Armenian Association of Hematology and Oncology, City of Smile Charitable Foundation, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Cancer and Crisis, the Former President of the Harvard Club of Armenia.
Dr. Tamamyan is the Past-Chair of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) IDEA Steering Group and International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) PODC Supportive care WG, Ambassador of the Society of Hematologic Oncology. He was selected for the ASCO Leadership Development Program and currently is a member of the ASCO International Committee. He is a recipient of numerous awards and distinctions, among them the ASCO IDEA and LIFe Awards, 40 under 40 in Cancer Award, he was recognized as a Young Leader of the International Agency for Cancer Research (IARC) and Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).
