Aya El Helali Highlights Power of Collaboration in Glioblastoma Research and Care

Aya El Helali, Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Hong Kong, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Glioblastoma remains one of the most challenging and aggressive forms of cancer, but it’s also a disease that highlights the power of collaboration. Recently, I’ve witnessed how individuals and organizations from different fields have come together with a singular focus: improving outcomes for patients and accelerating drug development.
I want to thank Asian Fund for Cancer Research, DIA, Raju Kucherlapati, Patrick Wen, Peter Woo, Herbert Loong, Hong Kong Genome Institute, and many others whose commitment to this cause is making a real difference. Each of you has played a role in driving meaningful progress in the fight against this disease.
What stands out is the shared commitment to breaking down silos, aligning resources, and focusing on what truly matters – better patient care and new treatment options. These efforts are not just about science or healthcare systems; they’re about bringing tangible hope to patients and their families.
This collaboration is a reminder of the impact we can achieve when we unite around a common goal. It’s not just about doing what’s necessary – it’s about going further, asking better questions, and finding better answers.
To those in research, patient care, or biotech innovation: this is a moment to act. If you’re working in the glioblastoma space or driven to make a difference, I’d love to connect and explore how we can continue advancing this mission together.”

Herbert Loong, Chair-Elect of the International Affairs Committee at ASCO, shared this post, adding a comment:

“Thanks Aya El Helali and the entire team of helping put Hong-Kong and Glioblastoma on the World map. Happy to take part and be able to contribute to this truly global effort.”
