Welcoming Participants to Day 1 of the Cancer Planners Forum in Geneva – UICC
Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today, we welcome participants to Day 1 of the Cancer Planners Forum in Geneva, Switzerland.
This forum brings together cancer planners, policymakers, and advocates from around the world to exchange knowledge, build connections, and strengthen national cancer control efforts.
The day ahead includes presentations, on-stage country experiences, and table discussions on the following topics:
- Making the investment case
- Defining components of success
- Engaging key stakeholders
- Setting objectives and priorities
- Reviewing the EU Beating Cancer Plan
Opening the Forum, Filip Meheus, Lead at WHO-CHOICE, set the tone for the day:
‘Understanding the pressures that countries are facing is key to understanding why we need cancer control. Countries are not powerless – there are choices, and there are solutions. “
