Hadi Mohamad Abu Rasheed: The struggle of women never pauses

Hadi Mohamad Abu RasheedScientific Advisor at the Qatar Cancer Society and is an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Doha for Science and Technology, shared a post by Passant Fouad Ismail, Director of External Communications at Juhayna Food Industries, on LinkedIn, adding:

We passed the International Women’s Day, but the struggle of women like them never pauses.

I find myself reflecting on the strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit of Palestinian women who continue to stand tall against unimaginable hardships. Beyond the numbers – more than 46,600 lives lost in Gaza since October 2023, nearly 70% of whom were women and children – there are faces, names, and stories that deserve to be remembered.

Women like Dr. Sara Al-Saqqa, who has been on the frontlines as Gaza’s pioneering female surgeon, saving lives under relentless bombardment. Bisan Owda and Plestia Alaqad, fearless journalists who ensure the world sees the truth. Reem Al-Hajajreh and Ahed Tamimi, activists who refuse to be silenced, and Muna El-Kurd, whose voice has transformed local oppression into a global conversation.

Their resilience is not just inspiring – it’s a call to action. A reminder that our support, our voices, and our unwavering belief in justice matter.

We owe it to them to know their faces, learn their names, and honor their courage – not just on Women’s Day, but every day.

Quoting Passant Fouad Ismail‘s post:

“This International Women’s Day, I reflect on the remarkable resilience of Palestinian women who, despite immense challenges, continue to stand firm. Since October 2023, Gaza has faced significant hardship, with over 46,600 Palestinians losing their lives, nearly 70% of whom were women and children.

These figures represent countless stories of mothers, daughters, and sisters who have paid the ultimate price. Yet, individual stories shine brightly: Dr. Sara Al-Saqqa, Gaza’s pioneering female surgeon, has shown remarkable dedication by providing critical care during these trying times.

Journalists like Bisan Owda and Plestia Alaqad have bravely documented harsh realities, ensuring the world hears their people’s voices. Activists such as Reem Al-Hajajreh and Ahed Tamimi lead movements rooted in justice and solid values. Muna El-Kurd has transformed local struggles into global conversations, exemplifying the power of advocacy.

Their resilience is a testament to the enduring spirit of a people who, despite suffering, remain committed to their pursuit of dignity and justice.

Their stories should inspire us to lead with purpose and integrity.

Know their faces, learn their names, and salute them with profound respect.”
