Celebrating Ben Anderson’s Retirement and the Next Phase of Cancer Care Innovation at C/Can
City Cancer Challenge shared on LinkedIn:
“Celebrating Ben Anderson’s Retirement and the Next Phase of Cancer Care Innovation at C/Can.
It’s with deep gratitude and admiration that we announce the retirement of Benjamin Anderson, Global Technical Lead for Breast Cancer at City Cancer Challenge (C/Can), effective February 4th, 2025, coinciding with World Cancer Day.
Ben’s leadership has been instrumental in advancing the Global Breast Cancer Initiative (GBCI), where his expertise has helped shape city-level cancer care improvements and drive global efforts to reduce breast cancer morbidity and mortality. His vision and dedication to strengthening healthcare systems, particularly in resource-stratified settings, has left a lasting legacy at C/Can and beyond. And time after time, we can confidently say now – we know it works!
We were fortunate to have Ben join C/Can in the final chapter of his distinguished career. His contributions have laid a strong foundation for continued success in the fight against breast cancer, and while he may be retiring, the impact of his work will carry on through the leadership of Alfredo Polo, who will take on a more prominent role, and Natia Verdzadze, who continues to guide the GBCI program at C/Can.
As we bid Ben farewell, we are also excited to unveil a new narrative for C/Can, focused on expanding the reach and impact of our work as we continue to collaborate with global partners to improve cancer care equity.
Thank you, Ben, for your extraordinary contributions to the cancer care community. Your legacy will continue to inspire and drive us forward.”
