Javed Khan: Postdoctoral Fellowship in Machine Learning
Javed Khan, Deputy Branch Chief at Genetics Branch at National Cancer Institute, shared on LinkedIn:
“Postdoctoral Fellowship in Machine Learning
The Oncogenomics section of the Genetics Branch is an interdisciplinary translational research programmatic effort with the goal of utilizing high-dimensional data, including genomics, to develop novel therapies for cancer.
Our group is applying high-dimensional data to identify novel pathways, biomarkers, and therapies for human cancer. We work with other investigators within the intramural program as well as academic, and industrial partners to rapidly translate our findings to the clinic.
The program takes advantage of the uniqueness of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Cancer Research (CCR) intramural program in that it spans basic discovery research in immunology, genomics, and tumor biology through preclinical translational research, to paradigm-shifting clinical trials.
We seek individuals with experience in bioinformatics, machine learning, and big data handling. Knowledge of next-generation sequencing (NGS), high throughput functional genomics, epigenetics, single-cell RNA-seq, epigenetics, imaging processing, single-cell ATAC-seq, CyTOF, CODEX, or other spatial proteomics analysis, spatial transcriptomics, using machine learning is preferred. The incumbent will use big data to develop predictive models that will deepen understanding of cancer biology, tumor microenvironment, response to therapy, and clinical outcomes. Candidates with postgraduate degrees in computational biology, computer science, physics, bioinformatics, and machine learning will be considered. The position is available immediately.
Applicants should submit a cover letter describing their research experience and interests, CV including bibliography, and contact information for three references to: Dr. Javed Khan, M.D., via e-mail: [email protected].
DHHS, NIH, and NCI are Equal Opportunity Employers.”
