Good stuff!
Mechanism
Increased HbF, decreased WBC, decreased RBC adherence to endothelium, increased RBC hydration = increased HbS polymerization and increased Nitric oxide.
Clinical results
Decreased RBC transfusion, decreased Hospitalization, decreased Pain episodes.
No increase in secondary malignancies!”
Aaron Goodman is a Hematologist/ Oncologist and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. He is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guideline committee for both cutaneous NHLs and T-cell NHLs.
