Dear Pediatric Oncology Community, SIOP members, it is a great honor for me to be considered for the role of co-chair of the SIOP Global Health Network’s Research and Innovation Working Group. I’m Shushan Hovsepyan, a Pediatric Oncologist from Armenia, currently serving as the Editor-in-Chief of OncoDaily Medical Journal and Innovation and Development Director at the Immuno-Oncology Research Institute. I also had the pleasure of serving as the co-chair of the SIOP Global Health Network’s Education and Training Working Group.

I believe young professionals from low- and middle-income countries hold the key to reshaping pediatric oncology when they have access to the right tools, guidance, and platforms. Coming from Armenia, I’ve experienced firsthand how challenging it can be to drive innovation in environments where resources are limited, but I’ve also seen how powerful collaboration, mentorship, and shared knowledge can be in overcoming those barriers, and I truly believe that the Research and Innovation Working Group embodies this spirit.

In my role as a co-chair of the group, I will continue to push for innovation and research to make sure every child has access to the best treatments, no matter where they are.
