Sami (Papacek) Mansfield: Being part of the Total Health | Oncology family has been one of the best experiences of my career!

“Being part of the Total Health | Oncology family has been one of the best experiences of my career! This year, I’ve had the opportunity to bring additional experiences to support our learners and attendees – all made possible through the incredible leadership of Sarah Louden and the entire team.
Even before COVID, we were discussing how to tackle stress and burnout in our oncology teams. As we introduced these topics into our conferences, we discovered:
The community was eager for something different
Attendees were grateful to have a moment to catch their breath—quite literally
A new opportunity to support lifestyle medicine strategies in both life and practice.
This year, we took a bold step at our ASCO 2024 updates. We introduced an idea that hadn’t been done in this space before. It was scary at times, but Sarah led with confidence and passion, always choosing what’s best over what’s easy.
We even had a representative from American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) join one of our events and she had fantastic feedback about the format!
Every single event this summer reinforced the impact of our work.
- Attendees left feeling invigorated, energized, and empowered
- Sunday tabata workouts brought an extra boost (and some sore muscles)
- I continue to hear stories of how these experiences were being incorporated into daily routines and practices from learners and industry partners!
This ‘butterfly effect’ is real, and it’s inspiring to see the ripple of positive change spreading throughout our oncology community.
If you missed the ASCO 2024 updates, then make sure to join us for our final events of the year ESMO 2024 in Colorado Springs and Miami! We will be there in full force of our six pillars of lifestyle!
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. Together, we’re making a difference, one event (and one workout) at a time!
Special thanks to American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
Thank you to Reyna Wilhelm, Madison Prillaman, Kayla Baylock, Joseph Piller, Maureen Schnepf, Peter J. Sciavolino, PhD, Lauren, Ashley, Kirsten, Isaac – you are all amazing humans and I love being in the family!”
