Tunji Alausa: The Healthcare sector is forging ahead

Tunji Alausa posted on X:

The Healthcare sector is forging ahead. In line with Pillar 1 and 2 (Improving Governance and Improving Population Health) of our 4-point Agenda, the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, on behalf of the Federal Government, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Taraba State for the transition of the National Orthopedic Hospital in Jalingo into a Federal Medical Centre. This agreement represents a significant step in our ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare delivery in the region. The President is resolute in his commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the country, particularly in underserved areas, to improve overall health outcomes for Nigerians. This commitment is evident in the recent establishment of FMCs in Ado (Ekiti), Epe, Misau (Bauchi), and other new orthopedic centers across the country.

I would like to extend our gratitude to the Governor of Taraba State, H.E. Agbu Kefas, for transferring the hospital to the Federal Government, and to the Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Aminu AbdullahiAlkali, for attending the MoU signing. We are thankful for your support in ensuring that the facility is utilized to its full potential for the ongoing benefit of the state.

The Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria is dedicated to providing the necessary support and resources to ensure that the hospital serves the people of Taraba and its surrounding states, offering comprehensive and affordable healthcare services.”
