Carmen Uscatu: We have a good reason for why we are doing what we do
“People admire us. Today I heard: ‘What you are doing is fantastic.’
People are hating us. ‘We don’t want you to be involved in this,’ I heard two days ago. And I wanted to ask: but why? I kept my mouth shut. Sometimes, it’s best to say nothing and let it go.
Sometimes I remember why I’m doing what I do, why we are doing what we do.
Sometimes I forget this, and that’s when it gets tough.
But in the end, we have a good reason. .
When you see Eric and how much energy he has, you realize that nothing is difficult. Almost everything is possible, but you have to be patient, take a step back. When I meet my colleagues, I have the same feeling. They are my support system.
Yesterday, I had meetings with clinicians and nurses at Marie Curie. We are working on both small and big things. Things that matter. They matter to me, they matter to you, they matter to the child, they matter to the parents.”
