Dario Trapani Highlights the Power of Narrative and Self-Inquiry in Oncology Practice
Dario Trapani, Medical Oncologist at European Institute of Oncology, shared a post by Manuelita Mazza, Senior Assistant-Doctor at IEO European Institute of Oncology, on LinkedIn, adding:
“Manuelita Mazza rereads the classics in August, opening up ancient training expertise to illuminate self-awareness, along that path of self-reflection that leads to the oncologist’s hermeneutics—the revision of stereotyping, the paradigm of the semiotics of communicative interaction, the allegories that have entered innocently and functionally into automated practice, yet ultimately poisonous and careless. As in 1977-1978, the cultural rhetoric of medicine—the literary antecedent—influences clinical phenomenology. The invitation to a critique anticipates reflection on the modalities and manifestations of change: with her reflection, Manuelita, in August, once again forces us to pause within ourselves and ask ourselves: having accepted the status quo, where can I begin again?- Susan is: the epiphany of August.”
Quoting Manuelita Mazza‘s post:
“Dario Trapani is always a good excuse to delve deeper into words, metaphors and beautiful friendships. This is my latest piece on ‘coming Soon’ (follow me there!)”
