More information about the WPE/PROS LMIC Education Lecture Series.

The WPE/PROS LMIC Education Lecture Series, organized in collaboration with the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP), aims to strengthen pediatric radiotherapy education in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Launched in June 2024, the initiative provides accessible online training for healthcare professionals who face limited opportunities for specialized education, mentorship, and international collaboration. The quarterly lectures cover

  • practical approaches to radiotherapy for childhood cancers
  • supporting knowledge exchange
  • evidence-based clinical practice.

‘This is a great response, which shows how important it is to target courses at colleagues in low-income countries, where the care of cancer patients causes many problems. Through this training series, we can give our colleagues more confidence in the treatment of children with cancer and create a platform for medical exchange’ Prof. Beate Timmermann
