Ramji Rajendran։ EXTEND Trial Shows Improved PFS With SBRT Added to Standard Therapy for Oligometastatic Cancer

Ramji Rajendran, Radiation Oncologist at UroPartners LLC, shared on LinkedIn:

“EXTEND Trial: Adding oligo-metastasis directed SBRT to SOC systemic therapy 350 pts randomized +/- SBRT.

53 months median follow up: PFS improved.

This was seen in prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, and other baskets.

Breast and kidney cancers remain inconclusive.

Interestingly, ctDNA clearance at 3 months correlates with improved survival.

Systemic immune reactions from SBRT + SOC systemic therapy also had PFS superiority.

This phase II study supports histology specific efficacy signals for phase III studies.”
