The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) shared on LinkedIn:
“Today is World Head and Neck Cancer Day.
For patients with advanced head and neck cancer, treatment options can become limited when the disease stops responding to standard therapies.
Led by ICR’s Professor Kevin Harrington and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, the OrigAMI-5 trial is investigating whether the targeted therapy amivantamab could offer a new approach for these patients.
The OrigAMI-4 trial produced encouraging results, with tumors shrinking in more than 4 in 10 patients whose cancer had progressed despite previous treatment. OrigAMI-4 patient Carl Walsh experienced a complete response to treatment and has shared his story to help highlight the importance of clinical trials.
OrigAMI-5 is now building on those findings with larger numbers of patients.
