“The FDA’s approval of RASONQUE™ (daraxonrasib) for previously treated metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma marks an important milestone in targeting RAS, a key driver of tumor growth. In the Phase 3 RASolute 302 trial, daraxonrasib more than doubled median overall survival compared with chemotherapy.
For the biliary tract cancer/cholangiocarcinoma community, this is a development worth watching.
Researchers are exploring whether RAS-targeted approaches such as daraxonrasib could have a future role in other RAS-driven cancers, including biliary tract cancers. Biliary tract cancer is an area we hope to see explored as a potential future indication.
Advances like this remind us why continued research and clinical trials are so important and why expanding treatment options for people with biliary tract cancer remains an urgent priority.
