Cancer survivors and patient advocates are also sharing their support for Dr. Gevorg Tamamyan’s candidacy for WHO Director-General.
Puneet Sharma, cancer survivor and Founder of Cancer24x7, also voiced her support.
“I believe humanity comes first. Borders may divide nations, but humanity connects us all.
My support for Dr. Gevorg Tamamyan candidacy for Director-General of the World Health Organization comes from my appreciation of the commendable work I have seen him do through OncoDaily. What stands out to me is his ability to bring people together under one roof-doctors, oncologists, healthcare professionals, researchers, NGOs, patient advocates, and policymakers from across the world.
Through OncoDaily, these individuals and organisations are able to connect, share knowledge, amplify important voices, and build relationships that strengthen the global healthcare community.
As a cancer survivor and the Founding Director of Cancer24x7, I understand how important these connections are. Patients need more than treatment; they need access to information, collaboration, compassion, and people willing to listen to their stories. What I particularly admire is the way Dr. Gevorg has helped create a platform where the work, ideas, and stories of people across healthcare can reach a wider global audience.
The world does not need more divisions in healthcare. It needs more connections, more collaboration, and more humanity. I believe that when it comes to saving lives and improving healthcare, humanity must always come first.
That is why I believe leadership should be measured not only by positions held, but also by the people it connects, the voices it amplifies, and the impact it creates.
I wholeheartedly support Dr. Gevorg Tamamyan’s candidacy and wish him the very best.
One humanity. One global health community. A healthier future for all.”
