Jason A. Mouabbi: Non-Pharmacologic Insights from ASCO25 – Two of the Most Provocative Findings
Jason A. Mouabbi, Assistant Professor at MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared a post on X:
“ASCO25 was packed with astonishing, practice-informing data. Two of the most provocative findings weren’t drugs—but non-pharmacologic interventions that improved outcomes when added to standard therapy:
Exercise saves lives.
Structured aerobic activity (≥10 MET-hrs/week) improved 8-year OS by ~7%.
CHALLENGE trial (LBA3510, NEJM)
[DOI: 10.1056/NEJMoa2502760]Timing matters.
Giving immunotherapy before 3 PM nearly doubled OS vs late-day dosing (likely CD8+ related).
NCT05549037 (Abstract 8516)We must give non-pharmacologic strategies the weight they deserve—just as critical as drugs.”
