Leuko 2026: Global Virtual Congress on Leukemias is an upcoming virtual international congress dedicated to advancing practical, evidence-based strategies in leukemia care, treatment, research, and multidisciplinary management.

Leukemias remain a major part of the global cancer burden, with a steady number of new diagnoses each year. In the United States, around 66,890 people are expected to be diagnosed in 2025, with approximately 23,540 deaths. At the same time, progress over the past decades has been significant: the 5-year survival rate has improved from 34% in the 1970s to about 70% today. There are now an estimated 475,323 people in the U.S. living with or in remission from leukemia.

Despite these advances, outcomes for patients with leukemia remain uneven. Prognosis varies depending on leukemia subtype, patient age, disease biology, access to specialized treatment, and regional healthcare resources. Relapse, treatment resistance, therapy-related toxicity, and disparities in access to advanced leukemia care continue to be major challenges, particularly in acute leukemias, high-risk disease, and relapsed or refractory cases.

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) Survivor

Scientific Program

LeukO 2026 – Global Congress on Leukemias will take place virtually on September 3–4, 2026, bringing together international experts for two days of scientific exchange across more than 40 topics.

The program will begin with the foundations of leukemia care, including global epidemiology, modern diagnostic approaches, molecular genetics, risk stratification, minimal and measurable residual disease assessment, and the emerging role of artificial intelligence and digital pathology in leukemia diagnosis.

Dedicated disease-focused sessions will address current standards and emerging strategies across the major leukemia subtypes:

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML): long-term treatment outcomes, treatment-free remission, resistant disease and BCR::ABL mutations, asciminib, and next-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors.
Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL): diagnosis and prognostication, continuous versus fixed-duration BTK inhibitor therapy, venetoclax-based regimens, Richter transformation, and relapsed or refractory disease.
Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML): diagnostic and prognostic advances, frontline treatment for fit patients, management of older and unfit patients, relapsed or refractory disease, targeted therapies involving FLT3, IDH1/2, TP53 and other molecular targets, MRD-guided treatment, and post-transplant maintenance.
Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL): contemporary management of B-cell ALL, CAR-T cell therapy, bispecific antibodies, relapsed or refractory ALL, T-cell ALL, and recent innovations in pediatric ALL.
The congress will also feature sessions on rare leukemias and related hematologic malignancies, including adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma, hairy cell leukemia, large granular lymphocytic leukemia, chronic neutrophilic and eosinophilic leukemias, mixed phenotype acute leukemia, and blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm.

Special sessions will explore leukemia during pregnancy, practice-changing clinical trials, next-generation trial design, and advances in pediatric leukemia research. A featured international “How I Treat” series will provide practical perspectives from specialists representing different countries.

The second day will extend the discussion to cellular therapy and transplantation, including hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, cellular therapies beyond CAR-T, graft-versus-host disease, and post-transplant care. Supportive care sessions will address infectious complications, hematologic emergencies, treatment-related toxicities, fertility, survivorship, and long-term quality of life.

The program will conclude with a global examination of healthcare systems and policy, focusing on delivering high-quality leukemia care in resource-limited settings, improving access to novel therapies, applying real-world evidence and value-based care, and building national leukemia networks, registries, and multidisciplinary care models.

Who Should Attend?

LeukO 2026 is designed for hematologists, hemato-oncologists, pathologists, molecular diagnostics and laboratory specialists, transplant and cellular therapy teams, oncology nurses, pharmacists, clinical researchers, fellows, medical students, supportive care professionals, healthcare policymakers, health economists, and patient advocates involved in leukemia care.

Why Attend?

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn from a global faculty across more than 40 scientific topics.
  • Review current standards and emerging treatments across CML, CLL, AML, ALL, and rare leukemias.
  • Explore advances in molecular diagnostics, risk stratification, MRD assessment, targeted therapies, immunotherapies, transplantation, and supportive care.
  • Examine practical approaches to relapse, treatment resistance, toxicity management, survivorship, and long-term care.
  • Discuss clinical trial innovation, real-world evidence, access to novel therapies, and disparities in leukemia care.
  • Connect with an international community working to improve leukemia research, treatment, and patient outcomes.

LeukO 2026 – Global Congress on Leukemias will connect the global leukemia community to examine current evidence, address real-world challenges, and advance more coordinated, accessible, and effective care for patients worldwide.
